I just want to hear my fellow drivers opinions. I just recently left my job driving a dump truck (due to you starve to death) to go to work for another outfit running pnuematic. Since I've started at this company I haven't worked but one day in the past 3 weeks (1 1/2 weeks due to weather). I'm currently on my third week and we haven't worked due to customer on my account is down. My question for my fellow drivers is do I ride it out or move on to the next? It seems like a decent gig pays 260 a day and I'm home daily. I have 8 years driving experience running tankers, pneumatic, dump, belly dump and a little bit of hydraulic tail flatbed. Do we roll the dice and grab another job or do we ride it out and hope we get to rolling soon?

i'd not ride it out. you have no idea, when that customer will be back up and running again, if at all.

    i say, "abandon ship".....

Is the pond dried up in your area & no other ponds to drink from:rolleyes:o_O. The experience you have there should be no problem finding better opportunities. I wouldn't ride it out. You have to take care of yourself and keep America moving beep beep. Let go driver get the wheels turning. All the best to you on your ride.

You've been hanging on this long . If you can make due , I'd give it one more week . If there's nothing happening by then it's time to go somewhere that you can make money.

You left another job for this gig so I would hold out for a bit.
You should see if you are eligible for unemployment w the extra covid cash.

Winter construction is like that. Stay home and collect unemployment. Because it's seasonal work you don't have to find another job.

Might see if you can collect.

Stick it out where you are. Construction slows down in the winter.
Enjoy the time off. Look at it as an early installment on your retirement while you're young enough to enjoy it.

Yea I noticed that with construction! After 6 years in the oilfield I moved home 2 years ago and went to work driving in construction. Honestly I've enjoyed taking it easy for the past couple of years but I've also drained my savings so it was time to get back to making money that's why im getting back to pnuematic work I've always done good financially doing it. I talked to my new boss and were good to go back to work so I'm going to stay and hopefully all works out good for me! Honestly I just need it to go good for a couple if years so I can build a nest egg and buy myself a house so I can afford to only have to work a 45 HR a week job and make it. Lol these past 2 years have made me lazy

If you are paid that even while down for weather, I would stay with it.

Unfortunately they don't pay bad weather days. The only weather that really shuts us down is ice fortunately living in Texas we don't get ice but every couple of years or so. I think I'm going to give it a good ole honest try and hope it turns out to be a good gig if not on to the next one I guess.
