Another new truck...

My boss loves me. Bought me a new truck. Volvo VNL740, D13 455HP, 1,850ftlbs Turbo Compounding, 2.47rar, 12spd I-shift. I've ran up and down the Grapevine a few with her. 15k on the od. She'll do 31-33mph up the hill and I'm not pushing her. We are always 79k plus. Did a load out of Iowa. And did 8.1mpg from Albuquerque New Mexico to Kramer Junction Ca. It has potential. 70mph the whole way. Except in California of course .
All our other trucks have the 425hp HGH. Our 6X2 adaptive loading trucks have 2.80rar and our 6X4's have 2.64rar's.
I'm working on my boss to seriously consider the 13-14spd Super Overdrive Down Speeding setups. There's to much data showing they work.

 

I've been following Joel Morrow of Ploger transportation. He posts regular on Volvo Truck Masters on Facebook. I think he's the mastermind of it.
This truck cruises 60mph at 900rpm. It's pretty amazing to me. And it builds awesome torque at 900rpm.
