Glad to hear it went well for you.

As a tip to keep in mind for future reference... Now that you have been though WY once yourself. When west bound, if the wind is making you a little nervous while traveling between cheyenne and Laramie... Then stop for at least a few mins in Laramie to check the forecasts and wind speeds. Because the wind is ALMOST ALWAYS worse between Laramie and Rawlins than it is between cheyenne and Laramie. Several times I have stoped in Laramie because the wind was making me a little nervous, and more often than not the road gets closed from Laramie to rawlins, because of the wind, within an hour of me stopping.

I would rather stop earlier than planned, than risk it and get blown over. And that mentality has served me well thus far. I hope thus can be of some help to you in the future... So far you seem to be doing really well, and trying to learn at every opportunity... Wish more new drivers would do the same.

That's how it was this go round. Worst before Laramie than after it. Honestly more ice on the road to worry about than wind east of Laramie.

Loading in the morning going to Ft. Smith, AR from Pomona, CA. Does anyone have advice for how to drive on flatter terrain without 60+MPH winds, snow/ice, or constant grades to climb/descend?

Meanwhile the exact milisecond the NB i-25 scale in Monument CO saw i was missing a mudflap they told me to come in. They didn’t give it to me too bad thankfully. I’m a bonehead and that’s my dumbo moment of the year so far.

Missing mud flap. Ok. So share with the group why you backed over that curb.
