Where are you living in Texas, or more importantly, do you get your energy through a Co-Op or through an energy company? Where I grew up we had a Co-Op, and despite their purchasing the electricity rather than producing it they were able to keep the monopoly for electricity. I later lived in 2 other towns close by where my electric was less than 1/4 of what it had cost before, all because of the deregulation and competition.

I live in N. Ftw. Saginaw/Haslet area. I have had those electric bills when I lived in 3 different cities (W. Ftw by Aledo, Atascosita (Houston area), & Saginaw) 2 co-op, 1 energy

Now El Paso and Arlington my electric bills were better. They avg mid $200 in winter & mid $300 in summer. Both of these were energy companies.

So minor correction. 1 drop in PA. The other 2 are MD. Plus I have 27 hours left on my clock. So we'll be doing short days for the next few days. They can repower it off of me. If it's urgent. LOL

Opus is in Ft. Worth this weekend celebrating FIL's birthday and christening the new bar.
Would rather be home, but he's a pretty good guy and it's real hard walking away from on open tab.

That's odd, I'm assuming your home is all electric as well, which results in the high bill even during winter months?

I joke with my husband that we could of had another mortgage for what we paid in electric.
