1000 horsepower LOL. To think when I was in my mid-twenties I ran a 318 Detroit powered Autocar 4 axle tractor pulling a 4 axle detach through the mountains of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and a little bit of Ohio in New Jersey.

That wasn't big power back then, but it was far from being obsolete. I think that truck was 74 and this was the mid-80s.

Amquip crane had a similarly-sized brockway about the same vintage maybe even older will a 12v 71, that truck could kick my Autocar's ###. Even with the stock N65 injectors that 12v71 was almost 500 horsepower

 

Probably a lot more enjoyable to drive now too

 

How are the 3.08s and the 13 speed treating you in the hills

How is the braking compared to the drum brakes?

 

I'd be happy around the 650 mark. No idea what it's at now but it's set up to where almost any idiot like me can drive it and not kill it. Long as you don't lug it below 1350. You can keep it to the floor and the pyro doesn't get over 1000 as long as it's 1400 or higher.
