Today when I started my 2016 international box truck, there was a load squealing noise coming from the engine. I’ve heard before but it went away. Today it’s not going away. Does anyone have an idea of what this is and is it still safe to drive?

Yeah, its probably your fan (drive belt)
-
The belt tensioner, belt or an accessory ran by the belt. Just check it all.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I’m not mechanically sound. Is this something that I could possibly still drive with about 500 miles until I can get it in the shop on Monday?
-
when you opened the hood , where exactly was it coming from.
I'm assuming you did check under there. -
I did! It’s coming from around the belts.

6.7L cummins ISB? Belt tensioner. Look at the pass side, the tensioner will be crooked. It will walk the belt off the fan pulley, and rip the wires out of the electric fan hub if ignored too long.
BigCatKy Thanks this.
