10 minutes to throw 4 easy to move around don't weigh much singles is one of the advantages to cables. But I'm still one that if I have a traction issue I'm throwing iron, I just use cable to make other people happy....he's chained all good kinda thing.
I do have to say however you've been running a pretty good testing ground for what does and does not keep you moving.

Hey man, I resent that lol I was down in Texas for a couple of days.....at least in that video it's only snow. They had ice in Texas, and that is not pansy -ish. They probably were trying to haul it off somewhere. I know some winters back it got bad in the NE and I read where they were dumping it elsewhere. At least that reduces flooding in one area...that was my thought.D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

Wondering... any of you throw a drag chain if not required?

I've had other drivers pester me to follow "west coast" chain regs when I used to go up and over the 70 in Colorado. "wHeRE's YoUR TrAILer ChAIn??". But I never did and of course was also driving slow enough to where no significant braking was required. I've heard horror stories of the trailer "sliding out" towards the tractor and jackknifing. But I always attributed that to flying on the ice more than anything.
But hey, anything to get you up and over to the point where you could yank those things off and get up to normal speed again. I couldn't imagine driving for 8-10 hours with those things on at 10-30 mph and not get frustrated and slam the accelerator down. Long duration, snow/ice driving. In 1987, my sister, bro-in-law and I went through Snoqualmie Pass on our way to go snow skiing in Idaho, IIRC. I had to pee even at the bottom of the mountain, but as we ascended in crazy thick snow, the pressure on my bladder became increasingly worse.
Half way up the mountain I was in the fetal position. Three-quarters of the way up I was punching the seat and wailing.
Finally, at the top, the first place we could even pull over, I ran as fast as I could, doubled over holding my lower abdomen to the rest room. I swear to the Almighty, I peed for about 180 seconds straight, full throttle.

This is why I stick to the I-5 in the winter. It usually clears quickly. My in-laws use to live in Truckee near Donner pass, and there is no way I would ever live in that much snow. For a few months a year, the snow is piled up to the rain gutters, and you need to dig a tunnel out of the garage and front door to leave the house. Stayed up there once when 6 feet of snow fell in 8 hours overnight. I-80 was closed for 5 days.
