I guess the reason I’ve stuck with my kitchen remodeling job for 27 years is because I get tons of time off, make good money, and get hugs from my customers. I remodeled a sweet old man’s condo in Destin, and he gives me a $200 Bass Pro Shop gift card as a gratuity, for example.

Learn a trade, dude, if you hate it. Even moron trim carpenters get $40/hr down here in low-cost-of-living NW Florida.

Pull tanker if you want to be treated better than a hobo/serial killer by customers. It pays better.

Home daily means home for just enough time to sleep and eat 1.5 meals.

Yes. I tell everyone the only difference between OTR and local is a bigger sleeper. Still 60 to 70 hours a week, plus commute.

With my home daily job I knew the license plates of the a-hole 4-wheelers and which intersection they would attempt to commit suicide. Home daily & hourly pay are fantasies OTR drivers imagine solve all problems.

No it doesn't get any better. It sounds like you are still young so keep your licence and go do something else.

But flatbedders don't get treated anywhere near as poorly as van drivers. I have yet to sit for 8-10hrs waiting for someone to decide they want what they ordered.

I work local. Farthest I drive one way is 4 hours. 10-11 hours a day. Terminal is 2.2 miles from house. I love it so far but only been here 2 months. Shippers are ok. Drivers are horrible. I honestly hate most of them.

I do miss OTR, but my 10 month old son ended that lol.
