Outer wheel seal axle nuts, looking for torque spec (front drive axle)
Truck has 7 of the 8 nuts loose with my fingers and was leaking hub oil. Whats the torque spec on those, i can find hub torque and lug nut torque spec everywhere, i just cant find the axle nut specs anywhere (i also might not have nomenclature correct)
Thanks in advance

Replace the locknuts. Nylock are one time use. If the studs come out of the hub, clean and dry, apply red loctite and double nut install them back in the hub.
Torque in a star pattern just like a wheel.
Clean and dry gasket, no sealant.Rideandrepair, baha and Caterpillar Cowboy Thank this. -
Certainly go by the stud diameter for the axle, and torque on the high end of range. I am pretty sure they are 10.2 grade steel. I think you were asking about the wheel bearing/hub nut ("axle nut"), assuming you want to torque while the axle is out. I have always used Mike Beckett's ( from MD Alignment) procedure to torquing wheel bearings and never had a problem. MD Alignment: Bearing Adjustments -. This is a link to a video I have had for a decade that explains this procedure. I hope I don't have a problem with copy right infringement.

BTW, I still reseat the old seal (200 lb-ft and rotate wheel).
