If compared to driving 70mph.. On average about 1k of savings a month... really aint about the money though for me.. The reduced stress is priceless in my opinion.... lately doing local routes have the hammer to the floor ... but its different up here... not so much bozos like u get on i40 , i 70 and the like

I had a 12 speed auto freightliner and kenworth ... both got worse mileage than i could do in a manual... flatbed u get different fuel mileage with every load because of the way air flows around different freight..

I can barley go faster than you! Used to wish I could be one of them, now I definitely agree driving faster is more stressful

I notice i dont even think about it anymore ... i find myself on one of those loads where theres no delivery time, just get it there when it gets there... seems my default speed is around 60 mph... just a good speed for me... keeps bozos from getting so close to ur front bumper when they pass you... a good speed to keep traffic flowing around you when in the cities with 4 lanes or more... easier to see wrecks happen in front and be able to react...rather than be apart of it when ur flowing with traffic... just my opinion

Speaking of loads, how do you book them at DSV? Is there a website where you look at the ones available? (I guess this could be a question in general as well)

Also, if you lease one of their trailers, can you put a side kit on it?

U could get them off truckstop.com or u build relationships with the agents here... i have a couple people i work with... as most guys here do... i have asked other dsv drivers who they work with and they tell me , even go as far as telling how much money they pay and what lanes.... So i give agent a call and steal their freight , thats how i first started... now i have my own people and dont talk about #### to anyone because of people like me...

No we have steps and flats... not sure of to much side kit loads we have.... Most of our stuff is oversized and military freight.... If you see anything other than that on a dsv trailer they have a niche they are working...
