There are GPS' out there with truck routing for less than $600.00. My husband first went with PAM after going through driving school back in 1999. I'm hoping their pay was raised but then he was with them he started at .22 cpm and they do household miles. We almost went broke with them. They would have him sit between loads and miles were around 1500 a week on average. I was with him one time when we delivered in Detroit at 12 noon on a Friday and didn't have a load until Monday. There are better starter companies out there. Try Roehl Transport out of Marshfield, Wi. Hubby and I teamed with them. They are a good place to start. They have their quarks. They micro manage. If you can put 2 years in with them you can be on your way. On the other hand you may like them and decide to stay with them longer.

Roehl did show up at the school. Werner showed up also. just the two....not to sure what that says about the school I attended. Can you please explain how the household miles work. What different "mileages" do they have and how do they work? Almost went with England. I checked out the section on them and saw some pretty scary stuff. My employment options are few, I have 4 moving violations within the past 3 years(have 1 coming off in Jan.), J.B. Hunt screwed me out of a job 13 months ago & have no driving exp. So I was lucky to get with PAM and at this point just hopin' for the best. Thank you for your reply.

I am new but its not PAM rule but a DOT ruling that will stop you unless you can get a DOT doctor to say you are cured

all of the company's on there web site are all pam now. the only one that i don't think is is Decker you can be team and run for .145 cents a mile to start or .25 a mile to start out. your choice. most of choctaw's runs are decanted runs.

try and read thru some of the pam post a few of there drivers post here.

well you should get a rand mc nally motor carriers road atlas. they have ok equipment and home time depends on what you do. pam freight you are out 3 to 4 weeks and only off a day per week if lucky. keep your log filled out and i mean all of it. always do pti pre trip insp. and always allow for loading time on there or they will ##### your logs are wrong. ask your trainer questions look at there logs and keep it updated to the last stop you made. if you only drive 5 hours in a day X that by 62 mph for daily miles or they will think you are speeding. the trucks are set around 64 mph and if you get up to speed and set cruise you may avg 62 over the long run . just an fyi
