Next time you see one of these guys sweeping out there trailer at the truckstop you'll be wondering what was on the ground in your spot. That's the main reason I don't like to nose into a spot.

Yeah same thing with motorcycle tires, It's always the back one that goes flat.

When I was leased to LS, what made me get my own trailer(even though I had my own van trailer), was 1. extra money for not much maintenance. and 2. I was pulling a LS flatbed and the blinker on the rear had gone out, it took them all day to find someone to repair it, and I literally mean all day. I would never pull another companies trailer again.
So yeah, maintenance on a trailer is easy. I don't know how many times I DIDNT check brakes on company owned equipment VS how many times I do on my trailers now.Cat sdp, black_dog106, Rideandrepair and 1 other person Thank this. -
When you Own it, and have to pay for repairs. Being extra careful is much easier. Checking docks for debris, before backing in, for example. D&H was always a problem. I still carry an old mudflap that can be zip tied on in a pinch.

You guys on the D&H thought line, that isn't what I'm asking.
Lumper Humper, D.Tibbitt, JonJon78 and 2 others Thank this. -
I haven’t had a flat repair or unexpected tire repair in almost 10 years or about that. Check tires for foreign objects daily. But I don’t venture off road or dirt lots
InTooDeep and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
Is this across your whole fleet .... or do you have a driver that is "finding" more tire hazards than others? Life is better when you stay off the shoulder, and choose to not back into somewhere to turn around where they store pallets or throw away trash.
Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
Like I say, many of the tires aren't bad, they just get punctures or suffer some catastrophic failure.
Auto inflators also seem to go bad.Lumper Humper, InTooDeep and 77fib77 Thank this. -

Zero issues as well
I think I picked up one nail in the last 3 years
I run Michelin tires on all axles. Truck and trailer
Wonder if brand is making a difference?
But I don’t drag my trailer over curbs. Down the ditch. Or run it down the shoulders eitherbzinger, 77fib77 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
