My husband has recently turned in his notice with JB Hunt. We have not had a paycheck in 7 weeks and we won't be getting one again next week.
My Husband started driving April 2008. He already has been with 3 different companies. Not really by choice. The first one he worked for was Falcon. We never had any money coming in. Then he went with a local company Eagle Express. They were wonderful. Pay was good enough for our family and his hometime was unbelievable. Unfortunatly, 4 months after he started with them they decided to close their doors the very next day. He was left jobless for almost 4 months. So when JB Hunt seemed to be the only one interested in him he decided to give them a chance. The sweet talked him into trying their lease purchase program. Well, his total rev is about 15,000 so far. But his net is 1,300. That is including orientation pay.
We are at a loss of what to do. We know that there is money in this job. With who is the question. He cannot keep changing jobs in search of the right company because Employers tend to frown on that.
Christmas is coming and we have nothing to give for our children because of this job. We need a job he can start right away and that is an honest good company. If you know of any please tell me so I can get an application going for him.
Thank you!

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
Need a good company fast!

Yeah, that's bad, but, even if he got hired today, it would be a month before he gets a check. See if he can get on with UPS/Fed-EX doing sorting at the package processing area. Quick money to at least get you through the holidays. And they are hiring this time of year.

I do know that it will be awhile before he would get his first check, but the sooner he starts the sooner he gets a job.

i spoke with a central refrigeration driver, who started with no experience about 8 months ago, now leases his rig and makes plenty of $$$. ive been thinking of going myself. but he told alot of other drivers out complain about not having enough miles. he said the ones that are complaining are the ones that are slacking off, he likes to drive alot and wastes no time from one load to the other, you gotta have a good relationship with your dispatcher. you gotta stay on your toes and try not to waste much time at the truck stops, because thats where all the complainers are. good luck out there, i know its hard. God bless. -
Sounds like the kind of driver that pays no attention to HOS and kisses up to the dispatcher taking those hot loads sensible drivers refuse because they can't do it legally .
