Since we are in Tacoma, considering a change after two years with current company.
Anything good out there for a M-F home every nighter? Would rather not handle freight. And get away from hazmat.
And thanks for the warning about freight NW. They the ones with the compass arrows?

Turn the other way! I worked as a maintenance mechanic here for 6 months, and instantly regretted this decision within the first week. The trucks are really worn down and I was expected to fix it all by myself in one day - no overtime allowed mind you. Also with the temperatures rising the drivers are complaining about the AC not working and the boss man simply says that none of the trucks have working AC and all the drivers are dealing with the it so keep going. I was vastly overwhelmed by the bad routine maintenance on these trucks, and the lack of care. Pair that with constantly being yelled at and the other mechanic not helping I got out of there as soon as I could. I am hoping to get the word out to save another poor soul from going to this place whether is be a driver or a mechanic. Last I heard they just lost both mechanics due to the poor work conditions, negative work environment and the state of the trucks. It is a family business, but a shady, angry family that will stab you in the back to save themselves.
Reading the other comments I totally agree that this place does look like a scrap yard, when I first saw it I was confused about where the business was.snowlauncher, jon69 and Lonesome Thank this. -
Some of the chip haulers gave a lot of raises since the election because they need drivers
night shift until you get seniority though
Not the one on Milwaukee though
Gotta be some good union gigs around tacoma -
True story. This morning, asked a shop sup for a truck repair place in the area if he knew of anyone looking for drivers. First words out of his mouth, Freight NW.
It was a twilight zone moment. -
☆ cant divulge my identity through details [ worked in management at FNW ...ultimately it was the sole reason I QUIT WORKING FOR PEOPLE AND WENT TO WORK FOR MYSELF. The comments [ negative] are just the tips of icebergs . They are all accurate. By far the worst run company I've ever worked for, and most definitely the worst "trucking" company around. The family are petulant control freak slobs that really only see you as $ . Dont care about your safety. Constantly break rules of service laws. Extremely manipulative. Liars. They lie to you coming in the door and going out the door.equipment is all trash. Management is all trash. If you are starving need a job have no self esteem dont have a life have no goals dont care about people laughing at your resume when they see FNW listed as experience...more power to you. Youd be better off working at the drive through at Wendy's. If I worked for the DOT I would make it my personal goal to run them out of business. AVOID WORKING AT THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. It is not worth your time or mental well being.

☆p.s. : I recognize all the previous posts from former employees on this page, so you know, I actually worked there. This is not an anonymous rant...I know those people.

In a perverse way, I landed my current job (which I love) because of my FNW experience. The guy that hired me knew JP, and said anyone who can last three years with that blowhard must have some decent qualities.sevenmph Thanks this.
