I drive for a mega that doesn't allow cb radios so I need a CB setup that can be removed easily, but still has good clarity and a far throw. Can anyone recommend a CB + antenna that I could use with a 2016 cascadia? I know removing the radio unit is no prob, but I have no idea about removing/installing an antenna and whether or not it would be practical to take off each time I have to pull in to the terminal (which is rare because I avoid the terminal like the plague)
Good CB setup that is easily removable (for company truck)

If you are looking for an easy portable one, I have this one for my car. The only drawback is 1/2 mile to 4 miles depending on terrain. It has an outside magnetic antenna that goes on the truck.

They make a a vice-grip antenna mount the LTL drivers used back in the day. Use a cigarette lighter power cord and a standard cb radio.
LTL drivers used to have a "slip seat box" that had a CB, AM/FM, speakers. Their antenna was welded to a vice-grip pliers that grabbed a steel stub just above the driver door. The slip seat box had power leads that screwed or clipped into the 12v terminals of the truck.JerseyBarrierRacer and Dennixx Thank this. -
The antennas: look around the mirrors for a place to screw them in. If I remember they were on top of the mirrors. You can pick up a couple 4ft(?) whips that screw on and off quite quickly. Of course, maybe the co you drive for didnt spec their trucks this way or they tore it out.
It wouldnt be too difficult to figure something out that would work.JerseyBarrierRacer Thanks this. -
What is that unit on the dash though? Im stumped.JerseyBarrierRacer and tscottme Thank this.
