That was the updated part number from Eaton. I was a little leary of it so ended up returning it to the dealer. I went to a gear shop and they said that's how the new ones are now. I ended up getting an aftermarket brand one from them that was built to the old specifications. It fit perfect.

The only one thing I noticed when transmission was off, some rattling marks on front bearing cover from throw bearing. Looks like throw bearing rattling because something out of alignment.

When you put in the after market shaft did it look like the old shaft and did it fix the rattle or did you have a rattle sound at a crawl

I just checked and my trans was built Sept. 2019 at Eaton so it's probably got that new style shaft in it. I will do some research on thus to find out why thus shaft was updated and whether or not this could be causing this rattle at a crawl or whenever I lug it down cause it gets pretty loud and sounds like something is going to self destruct

Aftermarket shaft looked exactly the same as the original.

As for rattling, I can't say. Truck has yet to see pavement.

I know the noise you are talking about. It’s nasty. I pulled my old trans 18 speed and put a reman in. I also put a 2050 Eaton easy pedal in. That nasty noise was gone. I don’t know what was causing it but I suspected possibly that the old clutch disk housing was cracked everywhere. The noise would go away soon as I gave the truck a tiny bit of throttle. It was only when the clutch was out and a little creep. No throttle. Almost like rocks in a can. When I pulled trans, I couldn’t find anything wrong when I pulled top cover. I only replaced the #### thing becuase it was old and I figured why the hell not

Im betting its your clutch torsional springs rattling and not the transmission especially if it goes away with some throttle.

Just a thought but if you idle too slow as you crawl that may make some rattle.

If you pick up the RPMs just slightly does the rattle go away?
