Those are a lot brighter than 55 watts. They do blind oncoming traffic. My night vision has been destroyed by properly aligned "driving lights" They are for foggy and rainy conditions.

Cornelius I'm not going to trash you....but the above quote speaks volumes. I have only 26 years experience, each and every day I learn something new and don't pretend to know it all. You need to understand this business is a brotherhood of some upstanding people, respect and honor for your fellow "truckers" is paramount if something your doing is bothering people like your lights for instance have some respect. If everyone had your I don't give a rats ##### attitude I think I would hang up the keys because I wouldn't want to share the same highway with you. Just remember there is some excellent advise on this forum......you my friend need to take some time to listen.

No one is "patronizing" you. Just pointing out where your attitude is. When you add the fog lights, it increases the total amount of light that someone's eyes have to deal with to the point that it becomes difficult to see poorly lit objects. Human eyes (whether we're talking about a 20-year-old or a 60-year-old) do not have as large a capability of dealing with high light-level differences at night as they do during the day.

Oh my goodness. I am really impressed with the intelligence, the vast wisdom and experience, and most of all the civility of the driver on here who seems to not know when to turn off his lights, (or his jake brake for that matter.) We all need, I mean really NEED to learn from this master.:biggrin_2559:

    outerspacehillbilly,
When did I ever say anything about knowing everything? Ive got tons to learn and will probly never know it all.
LOL....... Ive asked a bunch of questions. Matter of fact, Ive asked the same set of questions over and over again about how these lights bother you and still, the only answer I get is "it bothers me...." Thats not answering my question.
I look in the mirror everyday....I dont see "super trucker" on my forehead. Never will.
Okay, see ya around then. Oh, I plan on bein around for a while.

    Truck Driver,
You are? Wow, coulda fooled me but so far, you're doin a poor job at it.
No, I dont get it. You're saying that because they dont need them, I dont need them. Well, who are you to decide what I need or like or dont need or like??
Forget company trucks? Um, ookay... There sure seem to be a butt-load of them out there. I dont know where you run, but I see plenty o/o's and company trucks who use them. And yes, night is a reason.
Theres no defense.... Atleast not on my part. From what Im seein, you guys are the ones bein defensive. You're the ones complaining about it.

    Scuby,
I dont know what lights your thinkin of but factory driving lights are 55watts. If they wernt, they wouldnt be street legal. Go ahead, pull one of the bulbs out and look at it. I will clearly say, 55watts.
How can night vision be destroyed?? Ive always drove at night and Im fine.
One more that says they are for foggy and rainy condidtions.... Again, they are not for fog unless they are yellow. As far as rain goes, you expect me to believe that they only blind you on clear, dry roads and that the reflection doesnt do anything that remotely give off glare? Your post sure does make alot of sense......NOT!

    Retired.........,
LOL, what ever, man. If thats all the input you can provide for this thread, then you deserve the "tool" title.

    hs1125,
I learn everyday just as you do. And yes, Ive met some cool people out on road. But, every now and then, you get people that like to impose their dislikes on everybody else. As Ive mentioned before, theres TONS of things that other drivers do that bothers me but I dont make a big deal about it. I try to look past it and go on cuz like whats bein proved in this very thread, you get people that like to whine and cry about the dumbest things publicly.
    Iron Pony,
I see how you think your trying to make sense, but Im just not seein it. My eyes are the same as yours.. How is it you are bothered and I am not? Just to refresh your memory, Im talking about the OEM lights....the ones that are legal and not aftermarket.

    bigdon,
See, this is the kind of person who Id rather not get advice from with an attitude like this.....

    MrEd,
So, what does your 28 years supposed to do with this?

No, I will not turn them off, because they are not blinding. Atleast mine arent.

OK! Since he's never gonna figure it out....Let's move on!

Today I pulled into a truckstop to fuel, Trucks were backed up out to the street waiting to get to the islands. When I finally got up to the pump I was next to a Werner truck that had been sitting there for the whole time that I was waiting in line! (about 25 minutes)

While I was fueling...Here comes fatso! Waddling out to his truck with an armload of snacks and a 5,000 ounce soda with his "trainee" trailing along behind him. As he waddled up to the truck I asked him why he didn't pull up after he fueled...He says " I didn't fuel! Mind your own business!"

Well, It was his day! I unloaded on him about all of the reasons that cretins like him are what's wrong with this industry and explained to him that he could go F*** himself while his trainee watched!

    THE POINT IS...

Newbies, Don't let morons like this guy train you into bad habits! If your trainer is an ##### there's no reason that you have to be one too! I see far to many idiots like this guy that are supposed to be training people and all they are doing is teaching them to be jerks! Parking on the fuel islands, Leaving their FOG LIGHTS on all the time, Tossing trash and bags of poo on truckstop parking lots and just being generally a P.I.T.A. to all of the other people that have to share the road with them!

You are new...There are things that shouldn't be done...

Sorry in advance if this hurts you FEELINGS but it's time that some of you learn that it's not just about you!
