I have a 2008 Frieghtliner Century and it suddenly started leaving black ash all over the place under my hood and even getting inside my cab . I’ve checked the whole exhaust system and don’t see any breaks or cracks. It’s gotten bad that I wiped my face and had black particles all over the towel I used . Any help finding what it could be is appreciated.

could be an exhaust manifold leak, maybe a leaking gasket at the turbo, maybe the flex exhaust pipe is slit at one of the sections?

you could try a spray bottle of water, with the engine running, spray one area at a time, if it blows back at you, you found it.

Find that leak before it kills you!!!!! Exhaust fumes can put you to sleep while driving btw. Change shops if your current one can’t find such a major leak.
