I am a driver that thinks of others. I try to help others. I am sharing the road. I don't own it.JustSonny Thanks this.

If the car didn't have Utah plates on it, the driver had probably moved to Cali from Utah long enough to get his Cali tags. This is the type of #### that we see here every day.

I think I finally got a clue - Right or wrong, a lot of 4-wheelers drive like this:
Merge at any comfortable slow speed - don't bother to look for a merge spot and don't worry about your speed - You are now on the freeway! Congratulations! Now, gradually accelerate to your favorite freeway speed in any lane that works for you. If a truck tries to pass you, just speed up!
LoneCowboy and lilillill Thank this. -
Lol... EXACTLY!
It amazes the hell out of me when they come down the ramp with their feet kicked up on the dash, talking on the phone, like they're sitting in their living room at home.
Mr. Can't-Be-Bothered-to-Pay-Attention-While-Merging.... meet Mr. Air Horn. -
Move out of the way if you can. If not, maintain your speed. You can't make decisions for the other guy and attempting to just causes confusion. I like to leave a big space in front though for them to merge into.

Over time you'll learn who to move over for and who you should just stay put for. If I see someone coming up a ramp actually looking for his/her space to merge I'll move over and they generally smoke me which is fine or stay behind me and allow me to merge right - even if they do not flash me over I'll blink a couple times for them. Then you have the "pacer". You'll get a feel for who is gonna stay right next to you before they do it. In my lean mean 62 (60) MPH Con-way line-haul machine that can be a problem. I'm a courteous driver but they get to eat it unless the left lane is clear for a good distance. Then you have the "stop on the ramp with a 1/2 mile left to merge guy". Sorry dude, I moved over, what do you want me to do - drive into the median, stop for you, or drive for you? Just shake your head and continue on with that guy..lol..

Depends on what state I'm driving through. If I am in one of those states with dual speed limits and restricted truck lanes, I STAY PUT no matter what, with the only exception being for another truck.
What pisses me off is when I swing left to let another truck on and the idiot steering wheel holder does a 4wheeler and tries to pass me on the right (usually local drivers). I'll pace them until they realize that theyre not going to hang me out in the left lane. -
I am always amused by this merging thing. I slow down, they slow down. I speed up they speed up. 'Now I just honk the horn if I think they don't see me. I gave up on being courteous. I still TRY to give some room if I can but most of the time there is someone beside me and I just puts along and keep an eye on them. Usually they will speed up or slow down... like they are supposed to but they always wait till the last second to see how much seat cushion you can fit between your butt cheeks.
lol
