Hmmmm.... Its a mystery, I tell ya.....

Wyo. is roughly the same as Colo.
I've been told by Mack that on mine I can do it while rolling at speeds upto 20 mph without wheel spin. However on my truck, if the ATC (automatic traction control) or Power Divider are engaged (seperate things) my speed is limited by the computer to 30 mph. -
As long as there is no wheel spin there is usually no problem throwing the switch while moving BUT it's always best to ask the manufacturer, read the owners manual (if some previous Bozo driver didn't throw it out!) or the owner of the truck! Asking on this forum will get you every answer you could think of!

We have some 2006 Volvo day cabs at school. There is 2 differnt switches to lock in the tandems. On if I am correct locks in the front drive axle. It single axle pic that blinks when engaged. The other just lights up with a picture of both axles.
I guess I could look for the manuals.

you have a locking diff in the truck as well maybe both only use it to get moving as trucks do not turn well when the diffs are locked and under power

You're better off leaving the jake totally off in a situation like that... it can start a trailer skid even on the low setting. Just use gentle application of the brakes well before you normally would to control your speed.

Our practice field is gravel and on a slight grade. We have to lock them in to do our parallel parking. -
lock em all in mash the hammer and try and do a circle

power sliding a bobtail on snow is great fun, one reason I hate my ATC, it won't let me do it
