Kits, head, fire rings or not, 1 or 2 piece piston

I used IPD one piece steel pistons, my head was newer so I didn't change that. Buy if I needed one now I'd probably go with a APC (American premium castings) guy by the name of Robert Calexico seems to be the go to guy. Lots of people running his heads. A few have had problems but Robert has bent over backwards for most to fix any issues. He has several different stages of heads depending on HP.
I have no experience with O-ringed heads. But for factory HP I don't think they are necessary. But some guys really like them and say you will never have to worry about blowing a head gasket again. Make sure your liner height is correct first and foremost. If its never been apart I'm sure you will need to cut the counter bores. Cat head gasket and ARP head bolts or i think IPD is offering some special treated headbolts now too.
I'm running 700ish hp on my 6nz with IPD one piece kit. Haven't had any trouble and I'm hard on that engine
