LMB aka cheapskate
SilveradoBlue Thanks this. -
I am trying to catch up... I know I bugged SilveradoBlue for updates and then I disappear... LOL.
OK... we were headed towards the Three Sisters... hit snow, ice, got stuck for a while with other trucks around us... on an upgrade... dark, blowing snow, etc. Had to chain up so we could get moving... so an easy drive of a couple of hours ended up to be "one of those" looong nights. Made the drop in the morning... had another load (this one) waiting while we searched for a place to drop pallets.... get our stuff out of storage and pick up the load. Pallet places were either closed or no longer buying pallets... that took extra time.
"Big Bird" is still impressing us... she handled Three Sisters well in the snow... she cruised I-80 no problem. Our Freightliner Century though new would struggle up and down those passes... Randy "worked" in that truck... this one he "cruises". So the mpg is about 5.4... considering it was I-80 WY... he is pleased. Randy didn't like big hoods, but this gal is giving him little reason to find fault and plenty of reasons to praise her. I can tell he is working less and enjoying the driving more. If her proformance keeps up we will drive her for several years.
Once I got some initial issues fixed... like my door would not open from the inside, the seat felt like it had wood rolling pins in it... in the wrong places... I love her now! Still have cleaning and organizing to do yet... so Vette67 (I think it was) any storage tips or anyone else with storage tips for a big gal like this International Eagle let me know.
We are happy to be running for JCT... the Qualcomm is not going off 100 times a day with repeated safety messages, fleet wide complaints, etc. We get the info needed, were checked on while in the bad weather, got to pick up our stuff right away and we're moving! We don't have a pre-plan yet... so not sure where we are headed next, our drop isn't until Friday in Keller... hauling frozen cookies... Lofthouse.
Excelguy22... I did kindof look for you last Friday at Supulpa, but didn't see anyone I thought might be you. Did you get your upgrade??
The Challenger and knighton5 Thank this. -
