or trade them.....
I've owned Pete's and driven my share of KW's over the years if given the choice rite now I'd take a 359 Pete in a heart beat provided it was still in good shape..I will say that W900L Studio I was in a few years back was pretty comfy..
Pete or KW ?

Run a KW 660 once in a while for a friend, I love that truck. But I have enjoyed every Pete that I have had the chance to drive.
-
kenworth's are hard to beat.i'm on my third t600 now. started out with an 87 model,then a 95& now a 2003.

Both Pete and KW are nice with specs that would be great on either or. If PACCAR ever really wanted to take a strong lead in the truck market all they would have to do is combine a few features from both the W9 and 379/389 to have a great O/O truck. Personally I love my '06 379 except for a couple small issues. I will say that the quality of both trucks have dropped off in the last couple of years when you compare it to the money that PACCAR and the dealerships are asking for the trucks.

After having all of them out in the oil patch KW builds the best body but unfortunately the dealer in my area sucks

I imagine this is going to P.O. some people but isnt KW and Pete made by Paccar? I always thought it was like comparing Chevy and GMC p/u's. Same truck just different trim and cosmetics?
Looking forward to the REAL story!
btw....... fairly satisfied KW owner, here.........

Put it this way...My 379 is 12 years old...has close to 2 million miles....it rattles a little and breaks down a little.....but it's a 12 year rig....
You buy a new Freightshaker and it it's that way off the lot.....
Stick to a PACCAR product and you won't be sorry...... -
The differences are minimal....
Petes ride like a Harley and KW's ride like a Goldwing......
Pete sleepers are nice but, KW's are nicer.....72" and 86" versus the 70" and the 63".... -
They both have their good/bad points. I hate the crossmember KW puts right under the bellhousing, makes clutch adjustment more difficult. Pete finally got the mirrors off the doors, only been a corrosion issue since the beginning of time. Hate the Pete 4 bag air ride. (and KW's new one for that matter) If you want 4 bag get Hendrickson's, theirs isn't "torque reactive". I'm a KW fan myself but wouldn't hesitate to buy a Pete if the deal was right. Oh and for the "cheaper truck = more money in your pocket" theory. It had better be true because your going to need that extra cash to cover your losses when you upgrade. Not an opinion, go to an auction and see which trucks bring more. Side by side with equal specs the FL will bring less, disproportionally to the price when new. But their still 100% above Volvo.

When you pay more for a truck you should expect to get more on trade-in, so trying to compair is kindof pointless isn't it?
I think camelback suspension is a better ride than that short/small 8 bag airride that KW has now.
I heard that new airride with the spring that goes out and around the front of the hanger is a nice ride.
Parts for a KW or Pete are normally higher than a FL, even their other parts are high priced. I guess you have to pay more for the honor of walking in their doors?
My guess is, after you pay the higher prices at KW or Pete and you figured it all up, your higher resale probably isn't as good as you would think?
