I worked for Black Horse for about a year (2015-2016 or so). I delivered auto parts to dealership parts departments. I was based out of Chattanooga TN. It was a M-F overnight run. I would leave Chatt around 9pm each night and deliver to dealerships in Chatt, Cleveland TN, Knoxville, Alcoa TN, Greeneville TN, Johnson City, and Bristol. Then deadhead home to Chatt. It was driver unload. The parts were in wheeled containers and each truck was equipped with a lift gate. Wheel the loaded containers off and leave them, then reload the empty containers from the previous night. I had a key to each of my dealerships, there was no one there at the facilities when I delivered at night. There were 2 other drivers based in Chatt as well. One did a similar route to Nashville area and one did a route to Birmingham area. We drove leased Ryder trucks and parked them at the local Ryder facility at the end of our shift. Depending on the volume of the route, we would drive either a 24' straight truck with liftgate or a daycab with a 28' or 40' trailer with liftgate. All of us had class A licenses so we could drive any of the trucks. Pay was slightly above average for local work in this area. Benefits were ok. There was a decent quarterly bonus that was pretty easy to earn too. Overall a decent outfit. I just got burnt out on the overnight runs.
