Heres something to give you an idea of what I make as a solo driver....
I left home Nov 7th I went from Kingston,ON to Prescott,ON and picked up 1/2 a load then went to Toronto and waited till the next day to do anything, Went from there to London,ON and picked up another 20feet and went back to Toronto and loaded another 5 feet and headed for Winnipeg,MB. Arrived in Winnipeg on the 10th and delivered 20feet and picked up another 20 feet and headed for Calgary,AB. Arrived on the Saturday (11th) and sat till Monday the 13th and delivered 12 feet. Went from there to Edmonton,AB and delivered the rest of the load on the 14th and reloaded a full load going to Kamloops,BC. Delivered in Kamloops on the 15th and deadheaded to Surrey,BC for orientation on the 16th. Did orientation for 2 days then loaded on the 17th for Winnipeg,MB. Delivered in Winnipeg on the 20th and reloaded for Edmonton,AB and delivered a drop in Lloydminster,AB on the 21st and dropped the rest in Edmonton,AB on the 22nd and reloaded for Chambly,QC. I got home here in Kingston on the 24th. Total miles so far without delivering in QC yet are 8650miles in 18 days of which I sat for 4 or 5 days either for orientation or because I couldnt deliver on the weekend.
8650 X .40=$3580 plus my picks and drops...Not bad for a couple weeks of work. Oh and it was all logged legally. Even managed to match all my fuel receipts too!!! LOL. Hope that gives you an idea of the potential of what can be made as a solo driver.

or basicly $17.50/hr for the 14hrs./day for 14 days....(before taxes, expenses, and the inevitble hit to the ATM lol)?

Schneider just turned me down. They must have tons of eager drivers. I am floored that you are only taking home 400 a week. That seems a little light. That is only a little over 1700 miles a week (minus taxes) if my math is on.

Comparing net or "take home pay" is kind of silly. One person may be taking out more for their 401k, life insurance, STD, LTD optional insurance, one may have a loan on their 401k that would affect their net, also the number of dependents all factor into your so-called "take home pay". You need to talk about gross pay then everyone is on the same page! I happen to put a lot into my 401k so my "take home" pay is affected by that, but I don't have anyone on my benefits so I don't have any deductions for healthcare other than my additional LTD and STD and life insurance, therefore a person could gross exactly the same as me and their net pay would be completely different. In some cases depending on the options and dependents it could be quite substantial.

Heqavy Metal, do you drive for Erb? That sounds like the type of run a couple of them were talking about on the radio a few weeks ago.

MrBill, Why did Schneider turn you down?

$400 a week? Jesus, I only drove 3 days one week and still made $650. But there is always a trade off.
