Q fleet has a special DM who will train you like a phase 2 trainer would but he stays in the office.
Not many companys are team friendly when it comes to training.

Wish I could train you, but the dedicated fleet I am on we can not train teams anymore, they stopped it a few months ago for us, I am always maxed out at 80,000lbs but many drivers are happy to train a team.

Yes there are some bad trainers out there but realise you will only need to endure this for 30 days phase 1 and then move to Q fleet.
Ask recruter about Q fleet they kinda keep it quiet but for teams like yourselves that is where you progress to.
The last team I trained they were told Q fleet was only going to be 30 days, but they ended up there for 60. Just plan on the full 60 Q fleet/phase 2 and you wont be disapointed if its longer that 30 days.

Well that doesn't sound too bad. Not to beat a dead horse, but we just want to make sure that Q-Fleet doesn't have anything to do with us being pushed into leasing a truck. We don't have any intentions on leasing, we want to be company drivers.

Thanks for all the information you've provided to us, it's been very helpful.

Q fleet is just training. And you can stay company after training.

Actually I think leasing for a couple or permanent team (co-leasing) would (usually) be a pretty good deal. I think the big risk with the leasing plan is if you try to drive solo exclusively. If you're doing "team" miles but only paying for one truck (splitting the expenses in half, effectively) you can probably make out very well. Nonetheless, don't get pushed into it if it's not what you want. (There's always *some* risk.)

Bear in mind though, England has a policy that no sex is allowed on training trucks...even between husband and wife. ;)

there are only a few companies that train couples together, cre and covenant.
you go to school and orientation. then you get on a phase 1 training truck together, then you go back to one of the terminals to go threw the up grade presses. then you both get into a company truck in whats called the q-fleet then after that you go in for your final upgrade and decide if you want to be a company driver or if you want to lease a truck.
so no they don't split you up for training.

Q fleet is just phase 2 of training for couples or teams that are requited together and hired .
when my brother and i started into the industry we went to Grenville tech for truck driving school. then we applied at Cr England and went to burns harbor, in for orientation. we went out with a trainer for 30+ days (he had 14 years exp we learned a lot from him) then we went into the q fleet for 35 days. when we went to the final up grade it was like a 2 week waiting period for a company truck. when i went to talk to my dm about that i told him it's like there twisting our arms behind our back to lease. he asked us if we still had the keys to the q fleet truck and we said that we did he then told us that would be our company truck if we wanted. i said lets talk it over and we went back to horizon to look at the trucks and decided to lease a truck. lol funny how that worked.

BTW i actually don't push the lease program to the extent that someone gets stressed out. because it's not for everyone. that's a decision you have to make your self. all i ask is that you keep an open mind till after the q fleet. ( thats when you have to let them know if your going to lease or stay company anyways.) so my rule is I don't even bring up the lease program till the student says something about it. and i usually start with...well ummm since you brought it up....lol
the job of the phase 1 trainer is let the student have practice driving the truck and giving positive reinforcementand also to go over company policy. phase 2 is were you learn about the lease program. but since your going into the q fleet i would take it upon my self to make sure you have accurate info about the program. no here say.

Just called Covenant yesterday and they are not offering training to get a CDL. Did not ask about anything else.

Yeah, they do. Unfortunately for me and my wife Washington State is outside their hiring area.

Hmmm, wonder if I could use my aunts address in California?
