Good Luck guys I have enjoyed reading this thread ... I head out to Atlanta for orientation Monday ...Does anyone know what the orientation in Atlanta is like ... I started to go the 15th but figured the sooner the better. Or what the terminal in ATL is like ..

 

Are there any Swift drivers here that hired out of New Boston Michigan?

If so, I was just wondering how your training went and how often you get home ?

Oh, and do you know if Swift is hiring in Mi ? As there are very few trucking companies hiring here at this time.

wildbill, I'm out of new boston, started in july, training, well mentor was on dedicated so was home weekends not all are like that some are out for the 6weeks before getting back in. I live off exit 18 off 75 so Swift works for me, got on the Canadan dedicated right out of mentor truck, so get home 2 or 3 times a week plus weekends, get about 2000-2300 miles per week, that works for me. so good-luck hope it works out

know they had some going out with mentor's yesterday when I got in, so I would say they are taking them at new boston.get your enhanced license and that may help on the canadan run. I had a lot of pre app from other com. ta. tmc. wan. and others went with swift 15mi from house so works out good for me

 

Sounds good. I have a cdl but no recent experience. What is an enhanced license?

I live in Sterling Heights about 1 hr from New Boston, so it wouldn't be to bad for me either. I wouldn't be able to start until Jan. I'll call a recruiter soon to see if they have any openings.

enhanced license is like short cut pass port I guess, hazmat would help

But if have any criminal convictions in your past don't waste time getting a passport or enhanced license because you are inadmissable to Canada .
