Put your personal stuff in a flexible duffle bag. Don't use a hard suitcase.

 

Pack light. Hope you get a good trainer.

 

Yea, dont do it i did it for 5 years with my dad and while we are family we had more then one fight in the rig....

In all seriousness though, keep your crap to 1 duffel and 1 bag on the bed at most. If the truck doesnt have a bunk bring a sleeping bag to avoid.....issues. If your a smoker go with a smoker, if not go with a non smoker or you will be misrable. Avoid talking politics if you can it never ends well. Get a single can headset to listen to music or books to avoid waking up your team driver and be legal.

Dont reuse mountain dew bottles.

 

It’s going to be tough, pack very light as the guy you are going with will prob have a ton more stuff then you, hopefully you get a truck with two bunks. Bring a sheet to put over the lower bunk so you are not sleeping on other peoples shizz.

Headphones will be a great way to get away, as you don’t know what music the other person likes, I rode 3 weeks with a trainer who had to play am church radio 24/7 even though he watched porn while in the bunk and driving and swore like a sailor, ( company said good trainers are hard to find) even after sending them video of him in a road rage fit trying to run car off the interstate. They need to make a worse trainer section as I could go on a week about this..... I would just drive solo plenty of coma-miles around that area that will hire you, what cents per mile are they paying.

 

Start sleeping next to a running lawnmower so you learn to sleep next to a reefer. Aslo, ask the people in your life to lie to you about EVERYTHING and make you wait several hours for any appointment. This should make you feel at home when your boss makes appointments nobody can meet and then blames you for being late. Practice paying strangers to hold any important papers you have a d only return those to you after you pay them hundreds of dollars.

Reefer is the most sewage-like sector of the trucking industry. Detention pay is a lie as the shipper, receivers, and dispatchers all have their tricks to guarantee you never recieve more than 20% of the detention pay you expect.

 

When your lead driver is in the sleeper, do not slam the door or talk to toll booth attendants.

Nope, twist and look out the RH mirror, to see him still around there. Nope... Lay back flat to give him time to
have been behind the trailer and make it in. Nope.... A car's head light's are coming up the road toward me.
Solution.. Edgar had been blazing across the sand east of Needles and got bagged. Had left me asleep with the engine idling, hand valve down and patrol car delivered to the judge. Paid and returned to the roadside.
A good team can adjust to each other and cover some miles.

 

Great idea the lawn mower , i was thinking put washing machine on waterbed with 2 cement blocks in it.
