I met the owner of Hummer Trucking (the one with the red lettering, not the one with black lettering). They are brothers that own two seperate trucking companies both called Hummer. Don owns the one with Black letters. Ron (the one I met) owns the one with red letters. I assume that you are talking about the one with the black lettering on the trucks? From what I saw when I was using his (ron's) shop to repair my truck and talking with drivers is that they like working for him, it kind of seemed like a big family out there. Ron helped me out by letting me (someone who he had never met before until that morning) use his shop to fix my truck, gave me a cb (the truck that I was delivering did not have one in there and I had hit very bad road conditions), changed my fuel filter, gave me fuel treatment, and gave me advice all for nothing. He would not let me pay him. It goes to show you that there are still good people out there. If you are refering to Don's company I can't really help you out, but if he is anything like his brother then I wouldn't have any worries.

Don Hummer is a very driver friendly company. Fairly small at under 200 trucks. Equipment is kept up very well. When I was there about a year and a half ago they had 2500 watt inverters in all trucks. Don himself took us out to lunch during orientation. Real down to earth people. Two thumbs up from me!! Pay is good, insurance leaves something to be desired though. Some kind of high deductible program. As far as driver respect though you probably cant do much better
trucker3205 and moreaujeremy Thank this. -
can you tell me if the miles are there?
-
I was there in 08 and the miles were there. In my first week with em i was from one coast to the other. They have alot of new york state/Pennsylvania freight,Texas freight and california freight all out of the midwest. They are really good at working with you on hometime also. Im sure they have bad days but I can say I never had a bad experience with them. If I had wanted to stay a company driver i'd still be there. I just noticed your from rockford. They have a yard up in wisconsin, cant tell you where off the top of my head, but they run I39/I90 pretty heavy, so rockford would be a good place to be with them. Im about an hour south of rockford and they run I80 real heavy so it worked for me also
