I am 5'11" and 270lbs, and I still feel a lot better having my pit bull at my side when I travel places...I have no shame!

I'm sorry that I missed the question to me about APUs and pets. Swift doesn't allow pets unless you're an O/O or the pet was "grandfathered" in. (meaning the driver had the pet prior to the new no pet policy) I know of no Swift trucks with APUs. Well wait........I know some O/Os that put them on their trucks but no company trucks.

Sorry. No pet and no APU. I miss having a dog and I just idle like a maniac.

OK windless1 you got your answer about the pet! Now you are down to TransAm. STOP! If you do hire on there DO NOT SIGN THE FLEECE! It is NOT a lease but a SUB LEASE and it will not benefit you at all! Do the company deal and refuse the fleece program unless you just want to get totally screwed! Call OOIDA or a lawyer and ask them their view on the TA lease and when they get off the floor from LTFAO you'll understand! Go and search for Trans Am (see the word "Search" on the menu bar just below where you see you are signed in above^) You can also look at the thread http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...ere/92046-transam-trucking-lease-program.html
    or this one http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...70664-my-16-week-experience-with-transam.html
    or http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...does-anyone-have-information-about-trans.html

Now if you do hire on there I hope you own a laptop and a scanner! (Best Buy has a great portable one from Cannon about $85) Make a copy of EVERY piece of paper that has a dollar amount on it. TA has a habit of "loosing" receipts, BOL's and logs! They also have this stupid rule (unless it's been changed) about notifying the driver of missing paperwork until after 2 weeks and that's ONLY with BOL's. Unless they really need it. YOU have to check your pay stubs for any reimbursements of anything you paid cash for!

I quit working for them after 11 months & 3 weeks (gave up a weeks vacation pay and the yearly bonus) to go back to my old company due to their "your trip pack didn't come in" BS! Or "your BOL's weren't in it"! I'm just glad that my habit of scanning all of my paper work into my computer helped! They didn't believe that I actually had a computer and knew how to email anything but when they told me to fax it I asked for their email address and had to go around in circles with them and finally when I said the word FREE to email they decided to go that route! I also demanded payment by Com Check because THEY lost the paper work as I also took videos of the BOL's and the rest of the paperwork as it went into the envelope! I truly believe in CYA! T
his was back in 2003-04. Things might have changed but I highly doubt it just from the way they have the fleece program set up!

    and here post # 168! http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...-drivers/16652-packing-list-for-students.html

Good luck with that bottom feeder!

Rollover, thanks for the great reply. Looks like Ill be stickin with swift, Werner told me the only job open is team and that they would slip seats with your partner every 5 weeks but youd be out 6 wks with one week home, seems like a knife in the gut to switch out your co driver so often. Has anyone been set up this way before?

Hope everyone had a good turkey day.

I have heard through the grapevine that Werners regional drivers are sitting a lot waiting on loads...sitting a little doing long hauls is maybe tolerable, but I'd hate to drive a day...sit a day...drive a day...or drive a day sit half a day and screw up your sleep pattern all to hell every other day.

Thanks for the info Nana. I've got no problem idling the truck, but I'd really like to be able to take my dog. If you saw my other post it's just as much for company as it is I'm not a big girl (5'4"-123lbs) So I'm thinking for protection too. Of course no one knows that my shepard thinks he's chiuaua...lol
