I've used the NASTC card before. Membership was $200 but the discounts at TA are legit. On my first fillup I saved $95 off the pump price, with $50-60 being average. Also can do real well at AmBest and Sapp Bros. The app lets you see all the prices on your route so you can pick the best deals. Membership gives tire discounts too.

NASTC as well. Think they raised membership to $300 a year now with a $4 a month card fee as well.

Spoke with a sales person recently with NASTC. Was driving so didn't write everything down but this is what I remember:
$350 annual fee. Have to attend their safety training class if you are an owner operator with own authority. If leased on with a company, you can skip this class basically because the company has a safety department.
If own authority and don't want to attend the class, $39 monthly plus $100 set up fee. There were more fees but I cannot remember. As a new O/O I wasn't willing to lay out that kind of money.

Rather than discounts, I'd like to see what people have paid. The discount means nothing when the big boys are marked up .40 .50 .60 cents over the smaller operations. I just looked up a couple stations on I40 of @2.759 and 2.889 with out having to have a fuel card. That is .40 and .27 lower than the TA starting price of $3.159 in Knoxville.

I recently filled up at a Roady's in Crossville TN (EcoTravel) and paid 2.575. The Pilot across the highway was $3.159. I do know that the Roady's is listed as a fueling place for NASTC members, perhaps someone can provide the current price there via NASTC

All that to answer OP's question :) I use Truckers Advantage card issued thru OOIDA which costs me nothing except an occasional $1.00 swipe fee for outside their network. I also have TCS and I have used MudFlap when it was cheaper or more convenient. It was surprisingly simple. Pull up the station, click "get a fuel code", show that to the fuel desk which will start the pump, finish, get your receipt. I have $$ automatically debited from my business account which saves me an extra .02 cents. Wiegel's in Kingston, TN is $2.59 through MudFlap just for comparison sake.

At any rate, I'm not convinced right now the return on investment with NASTC is worth the investment. However I can be convinced. :>)

There's several threads on this if you want to search for more info.

I use TCS but the area I drive has few truck stops so I generally fuel up at smaller stations.

I've use the XPO fuel card and Mudflap. I am usually a few cents higher than NASTC but don't get ripped off by their ridiculous fees.

In Pennsylvania I have found a few small places that I think even with any discounts I don't think the discount price could match that.
