    I concur, Oak was pretty cool and laid back when I was there, from what I understand it's .62cpm for doubles now, still not a bad wage, only real negative I can think of is Jason in central dispatch, that guy is a douchebag, Chuck, Thad and Elizabeth were pretty cool though, atleast when I worked there.

    This was at Saia for year 2020, first 3 months on systems (extraboard) , the remaining 9 months on a bid, 538 miles and 6 drop and hooks a night. Screenshot_20210320-162819_Drive.jpg

    I'm an OD driver been here going on 8 years. Will be starting my 24th year as a driver so I've been around the block a few times.

    I run 634 every night. It usually takes me 10 hours from gate to gate and I'll have about an hour and 37 minutes left on my drive line. I do a meet and turn so I don't work to hard.

    I had a buddy left ODFL in Southaven and came to Estes. He said ODFL was very strict and to keep everyone in line, you always felt like your job was at risk.

    Well I can tell you they're no where near strict and you're not in fear of being written up. They put up with more crap from drivers than they should. I wish OD would hold some guys accountable. I'm not sure why your buddy was worried about losing his job because that's definitely not my terminal nor any of the others that I know of. It's definitely the most laid back job I've ever had. We're paperless so I walk through the gate and head straight to my tractor and when I get back I park the truck and leave. I don't have to see or talk to anyone from dispatch unless I have hazmat. It's friggin awesome if you're antisocial.

    Are small barns hard to move up in seniority? New city guys have to start between noon and 1400 at the one near me. Seems like it could be years to get a better start time

    Like anything with a seniority board, timing is everything. You might get lucky to hire into a barn with a handful of retirements on the horizon, or equally as unlucky to hire into a barn with a very young driver roster.
