I drove for Maverick Specialized (Glass) for about a year. Pay is pretty good but I wasnt getting many miles,1500-2200 a week and I was staying out over the weekend most weekends. Maverick isn't a bad company but like most big companies they dont really care about the drivers. They are very tight on fuel mileage and When I was there they wanted 6.5mpg minimum. They don't want you to idle the trucks and heard from a friend they are now using an hours monitoring system through the qualcomm, Still have paper logs but you can't bend the log rules anymore. I took 6 months off and am now looking at driving again and I'm not really considering Maverick. Just my thoughts.

I drove for Maverick for 9 months and it was as good as any other company. This was last year and from what i have been reading things have really really changed. A monkey could fill out the logbook and never have any questions ask. I got 2700-3200 miles every week and in 9 months i never missed a weekend at home. It may have been 24 hours at home but i could get my clothes washed and have a little family time. I was in the Flatbed division, i heard the glass boys were having some problems.

I checked out Body and Sons and they only pay .32 to start. Hell 5 years with them and you only get .35. Swift pays better than that. If you cant flatbed for at least .36 a mile you should be pulling a van.
