This was oone of the easiest loads of plastic pipe Ive ever run. Its usually mixed with large and small diameter stuff.

The key is to constantly check your straps. Like Tighten the heck out of them to start, run 25mi or less, pull over and tighten again. Run 25-30 more mi and check again. If they're still tight the 2nd time, run 50 more mi. Keep a constant watch on them in the mirror. You see one starting to flap, pull over and check them again.

A load of this stuff weights like 20k lbs, but it takes 70k lbs of straps to keep them from moving lol.

No DOT/Cops involved. No accidents either.

Couple guys came from our shop came out in our 1 Ton. We tossed a few more straps. Cranked the bar on all of them. They followed my (going about 45 MPH) about 20 miles back to our shop.

Well, we very, very rarely ever handle that large diameter PVC pipe. Especially in that quantity. It was a first for me and a helluva learning experience.

We do handle larger diameter ductile. We do belly strap the hell out of them along with boards and chalks. I've hauled 30" ductile before with no issues on that truck.

Yea, we haul small diameter PVC like that ALL the time as well. Very little issues.

LIke I said, this was very, very unusual that handle large diameter PVC. This was 18" stuff. Special Order.

I think I forgot to mention it was raining that day as well. Obviously makes things worse.

I was on a 75 mile trip from the Supplier. I DID stop (3) times on the way and cranked the #### out of the straps with my bar.

    Yes. Thank you.

BTW Matt, I'm NOT full of sshhiitt about that dude's fukkked up tire. ####tt really happened. Had I had more time and not of a time clock, I probably would've followed him to that tire shop OR went ahead a reported it in some way of fashion. Hind site is 20/20. I needed to get back to my job.

Hell I don't know that I would have called anyone either...but yea for sure I would point it out like you did. That tire is a murder weapon.
