Does anyone really use all that trucker slang anymore? I thought that all died out with the Smokey And The Bandit/Convoy stuff....can't say I've heard too much slang on the radio, heck I don't even hear people using handles anymore....

Not to the same degree,but yeah.
People still ask "what the coops are doin'",
state "plain gray wrapper shooting ya' at the 213"(I hope that is a cop
)
"Got a 187 at the 53 brake checking at the 59" (which I never understood as 187 is typically the call for a murder not just fatality)
And Smokey and the Bandit
Come on they made half of that stuff up
.Convoy might have been a little closer to reality in a fictional kinda way

All I've ever heard them asks are "are the east bound scales open?"
For cops I've heard them say "There's a smokey bear at mile marker XX" But usually it's "You got one in the middle there at the bridge"
As far as SATB, you mean there's no such thing as a "Texas bubble gum machine?"
Or a "choke n puke"?

, I also think that the Peter Rabbit may just be a variation of Jack Rabbit.
