I've repaired countless blocks with this issue by grinding out the eroded area of the block down to clean metal. Then I clean the area with brake clean. Then I take a high quality and high temp. 2 part epoxy such as Devcon and lay it into the ground out area. Let it cure overnight. Then carefully draw file the epoxy down until smooth with the block. Check your work with a straight edge. Like I say, I've repaired lots of blocks like this and never had one come back through the door.

What can i do to repair seepage under spacer plate? I believe it is oil. Just had head replaced.. 3406e. Seems like I read a thread on here talking about silicone..? Would it hurt anything to try and seal it up?

CAT procedure calls to roll aviation forma gasket sealer on the tin gasket below the spacer plate. Thin coat on both sides.
Having said that, if done properly even without the sealant applied they ussually dont leak enough to say its leaking.tommygun58, Heavyd, pushbroom and 1 other person Thank this. -
