    Never ask whats the best you can do. Tell them what you'll do it for. Asking what's the best you can do already puts them in a better spot and gives them the upper hand at negotiating.

    Rates are pretty high in my area this week for longer hauls. I assume it's because of Easter coming up. If a load is posted for 7000, can I get 8 out of them?
    That is all I think about when dealing with brokers and I guarantee you they are doing the same
