I'm AN INEXPERIENCED DRIVER, I had called progressive for insurance.

They would insure me for over 1000 mile radius but I would be paying for it!!

The average insurance quote for less than a year expeir. was between $ 9500.00 and $ 12,500.00 for 1 year's worth of insurance.

The price you have to pay to be an o/o ,work for yourself and take that plunge.

After 18 months they review the policy, with no violations/accidents the cost decrease's down to the normal rate!!

    Bogey Thanks this.

Good luck to buddy,I'm in the const. business, unemployment is at it's highest we have seen in 15 years at approx. 45%-55% and market analisis states it will remain at those rate for approx. 24-36 months.

Sucks to be me , huh?

I'm trying to get into trucking just as you are,I have a family to feed, want to get of unemployment NOW and get back working.

Start up $ isn't an issue, the expeirence is, I fel the best way to succeed is get my own truck, insure.,Authority then sign on and lease myself to a fleet company as an o/o.

Response to my personal email would be appreciated # rfboeh@verizon.net, let me know of any snags or none at all or whatever. I gotta be working soon or my kids are be eating at our local church for lunch.
    Thanks,

    newly crusin....
If startup $$ isn't an issue, why don't you take some of the $$ and feed your kids rather than resort to them getting their meals at a local church?

Pharm - welcome back. Good to see you on here again.

I've been lurking lately, but had to post since your thread was re-opened.

Good luck with the trans - buddy of mine just dropped a 15 spd out of his K100 and put in a 13 spd. Helped put his Cummins BC I back into its peak RPM range actually.

    Keep on truckin' brother...
