Do you have your C.D.L? It's better if you have it already but they will train you.
-
Oh yea you probably will have to sign a contract for a year if you want tuition reimbursement.

OK so what is Swift's dog policy? I am awaiting a reply email from them.
-
It's been answered on here numerous times. Swift doesn't allow any pets on company trucks except for the few that were already allowed before the policy change a few years ago. They are "grandfathered" in and when they get off the truck or pass away they can not be replaced.

If you look in "Questions from New Drivers" for a thread titled "Swift or TransAm", append #22 in that thread is from Texas-Nana (a Swift driver) answering this very question. Her response was:
I'm sorry that I missed the question to me about APUs and pets. Swift doesn't allow pets unless you're an O/O or the pet was "grandfathered" in. (meaning the driver had the pet prior to the new no pet policy) I know of no Swift trucks with APUs. Well wait........I know some O/Os that put them on their trucks but no company trucks.
Sorry. No pet and no APU. I miss having a dog and I just idle like a maniac.
I tried to do this a a link several times, but apparantly I am technology challenged. Hope this helps. Go to the indicated thread and you can see the context under which her statement was made. BTW, you may wish to do a search on Texas-Nana and look at other very informative posts she has made about the Swift environment. -
a search on me? is that like stalking me?

DO NOT GO OWNER OP. First year drivers will pay out the rear for insurance. Also, most owner ops I've met working for Swift are running in the red for at least 2.5 to 3 weeks out of every month. You may not get to have your pet with you, but you'll see a lot more dough in your pocket if you stay a company driver. The pay starts low, but once you prove yourself it'll be up over .30/mile before you know it.
Remember this: DO YOUR MACRO 10 EVERY DAY AND BE ACCURATE!!!
If you don't send macro 10 every morning with accurate information, the planners have no way of knowing how many hours you have available to work. Also, ignore the myth that you have to have an empty trailer to get a load. A lot of drivers # Swift will tell you that you should never give up your empty and that you'll have to go on a wild goose chase to get another one. In 7 months of solo driving this has never been the case. Msg your DM through the Qualcomm and they'll have the planners send you directions to an empty. If a shipper tells you that they can't give you an empty, then send macro 38 which notifies HQ that an empty wasn't available. They'll take care of you if you follow procedure!
Last thing: try *never* to call your DM or home terminal. They really don't like it when people get lazy or impatient and bypass the Qualcomm. Just send your message and chill out.
Good luck, be safe, and when in the slightest bit of doubt, GET OUT AND LOOK! -
your every post will be watched..lol
