    Are you sure?

I thought every trailer after a certain date had to have spring brakes.

Thanks , I’ll try this! Lines are hooked up correct , if they weren’t I wouldn’t be able to move ‍♂️. I’ll have to also adjust the brakes this weekend

Unless it was a recent change. Seen a few pole trailers from the mid to late 90s with just service pots. Even a couple years ago I believe you could spec a new lowbed without spring park chambers.

I just to be clear I wasn't doubting you. I am sure that if you say it that's the information that you have to work with.

Is it possible that in Canada it's different? Because here in the states I thought it was mandated like ABS brakes after a certain year.

I certainly could be wrong but that's what I thought it was.

Abs was required on all Tractors built on or after March 1, 1997. Trailers and straight trucks March 1, 1998.
There are still 4 catagorys of trailers that are exempt from needing spring brakes.
Canada pretty much follows the same rules since FL, KW, White-WesternStar were all built up there when the original fmvss 121 brake legislation was enacted in the early ‘70’s.

Like thats any different from normal?

I wouldnt advise anyone to adjust brakes if they dont know what theyre doing, but how about this. Had a shop do my brakes and drums, got truck back, brakes werent right, did my own adjustment, they work right and i found i need to replace a slack adjuster, ratcheting pawl isnt working. That ase shop adjusted wrong AND failed to inform me of an obvious mechanical fault

Back in the day drivers were expected to know how to adjust their brakes. Blows my mind you need a certification to measure pushrod stroke and adjust it if the auto slack is shot.
