look at the web site for this "trucking company" you will find bostings of the latest fuel opt programs and e-logs, there milage programs are up to date. I have worked for this company as both a company driver and a owner/ operator and must say all the junk I am reading is for the most part news to me. I happen to know most of the people you are complaining about and it seems out of character for most of them. I left them in Oct of 08 for the last time, due to big changes in the company. In checking with friends who still work there I am glad I left because with my 25+ years of exp I know I would have been asked to leave( old school drivers like me have no place at a company like this ). Electronic logs, fuel opt, and routing of drivers are all signes of a company growing too big too fast, when I was there JVT bought out two companys and added the trucks and most of there drivers leading to a shortage of freight and too many drivers. All I can tell you about this company is that it has changed from when I first went there in 2004, JVT was a great place for profressional drivers to work " respect " for the driver was allways the order of the day. By the end of my employment in 2008 ( I was not there the whole time streight through the first time was for 8 months and the second time for 13 months ) I was getting the impression that professional drivers were not needed and possibly might be getting in the way of the new direction this company is headed.
Not to pick on you Rosebud but if you think the dispatcher is not responsible for checking on the load and relaying all info correctly to the driver you must be out of your mind! The job of the dispatcher is to relay the info from the load planers to the driver and keep track of the drivers to head off any late loads, and it is never the job of the driver to call and deal with the customer on delivery times. Your ideas of how a trucking company works is very off and it makes me think you have had very little experence in this industry.
My advice to you a perspective driver going to work for this company is to check your professionalism at the door, it's not needed there, you will be told what to do, how to do it, when to do it, and where to do it at.

some lurker brought this thread back to life! Go look at the whole first page and note the OP's first post! ) 9/2006! then it went almost a year when the lurker revised it then and 17 months before jamesseiger went lurking in the dead sea and revised it again and comes in to defend the company! Puleeese, it was dead! look at the dates in the upper left corner before dredging up old crapola!
And I bet the OP knew not to fall for that BS of running because a dispatcher told him to! 24 years and he hasn't learned to say no yet? ROFLMAO about this whole thread!

well I see you still come here sometimes so your just as much to blame"rollover the original" as us. I thought the point of this forum was to inform drivers of the company and how it acts twards drivers.
As for me defending this company, it is nor was it my intention to defend JVT, but when I read things that are so out of place for the company I felt it was important to interject my feelings about it, not much unlike you with your posting 4 days ago.
Now as for you calling everybody who posts to this thread a "lurker" sounds like you are judging and your bible clearly states not to judge, so if this thread bothers you so much delete it from your list. Have a happy Winter Solstis. Peace to you and be well

As in my case, am looking into other truck companines hiring from the Mid-Michigan area. Many have/are using I-96 as the cuttoff, I'm about 70 miles north of there.
    But I digress...
Many of these post are quite dated...would like any updated information on this company, if anyone would care to post it here,,or send me a personal msg...Thanks.

    Thanks Tobig...
Did not think that my list of options would get so small so fast...with 3 yrs OTR all 48 states, did'nt think would have this kinda problem..Most smaller companies that are worth thier weight, here in Michigan are pretty much set. I tried doing job search from the road, but that's just as tough as doing one from the house, Good luck to you, first few years are the toughest..

Seeing that you are from Michigan..how's the company getting you to Dallas?
Also have seen quite a few drivers/students from The Great Lakes State on this forum..maybe we short start a "drivers from Michigan" thread...COL.
If this works out hopefully won't have to go farther than Chicago for orientation,,since I've got 3 yrs OTR behind me...
