From the very limited experience I've had so far with WS (still in the applying stage), they seem to be a good company to work for. The recruiters are top notch, and will patiently answer any and all questions you have, and occasionally just call you to see how the process is going for you.
From what I've read here, you could do much worse than WS....I'll be going thru their 30 day class either in Jan or Feb, so maybe our paths will cross.
Good luck to you!

Hey Warp Happy Thanksgiving, I took and passed the cdl permit and hazmat last monday. I studied and went in when they opened and waited about a half hour and was out in about 1 hr 20min. You can do it, besides you have an appointment time so if ya mess up you have another shot at it!
Warpdrvr Thanks this. -
You've probably done this, but I used Crist CDL's free practice tests before I took my permit test. I studied my ##### before I even took any of the practice tests. The end result was good. I passed all the subtests required to get my Class B with P and S endorsements (I drive a school bus). I'll be going back to the DMV soon enough to get my CDL A permit and I intend to take all subtests available (air brakes, hazmat, combination, etc) just to get the endorsements prior to going to driving school. The school will probably make me take the tests over again as part of the program but I'll be prepared. I strongly recommend Crist!

That's the site I use for my tests as well. They have so many of them, you get everything you need to study for. I've seem some other ones out there and they just can't beat Crist's tests.

So this morning I was at Starbucks and my phone rang...it was Dave in the Safety department. He had a couple of questions for me about my health and all..took about 5 minutes. He said someone would be contacting me soon.
I go run my errands and such, and when I get home there is a message on my machine from Roxy to call her. Uh-oh I think, her message was less than 15 minutes from Dave's call. All I can think is that they are going to decline to hire me for something or another....
So, I call Roxy and the first word out of her mouth is Congratulations!! I made it!
I am so relieved! I was worrying so much about this the last few days... She said they will send me for my HPE test and drug screen about 2 weeks out from my start date, which will be sometime around the first of February. She had me down for January 4, but my wife is having surgery on the 5th, so I need to be here for that. They were gracious enough to allow me to put off training for a month while I am here with my wife. This is yet another reason I believe I made the right choice in going with Watkins & Shepard.
Keep you all posted on how things progress....maybe if I'm ambitious enough, I'll start my own training thread so I don't keep hijacking Lynch's... -
Sounds like we had a similar experience today.
Warpdrvr Thanks this. -
Congrats Mike!! Are you going to the 30 day class, or just the 10 day orientation? and if the 30 day, when are you going?
Also, did you speak with Roxy in recruiting? Isn't she great! -
Thanks Warpdrvr, My recruiter is Sandy and she has been very helpful, nice lady too. I've already gone through school and have my cdl so I'll be going to the 10 day orientation.
