I have 2 points on my license, will that be a problem?
-
I will be attending orientation on 12/9/09 in Springfield, MO. Just got off the phone with my recruiter.
I am just finishing up a refresher course for my CDL. I have not driven a truck for 7years. I used to work for Swift.
Hope to have a good time.
RichDirtySideDown Thanks this. -
It can't be all bad! Iron Pony and U2 exit seem like very intelligent people based on how they write and they like it. So there has to be some good things.
I know eveyone's experience will be different, so I am not discounting yours.
How long did you work for them and who do you work for now?
Thanks!
Jim

Good luck Rich! -
While recruiting may be a little understaffed for the level of calls they are getting, the economy is in the dumpster and a lot of people are out of work, and they think trucking could be a new career or a stop gap to get them thru till the economy gets better and they return to their old careers. This has led to a massive influx of calls and it is difficult sometimes to get a hold of anyone in recruiting.
Since it was brought up, I blew my left steer tire on I-5 in CA last week about a quarter mile short of the Castaic scale. When I called in to my road assist advisor (this was about 8am central time) I spent less than 2 minutes on hold, and was given a call back within 10 minutes telling me what company was coming and their ETA. This has been typical of my expierence of dealing with them for the 3 and a half years I've been here.Last edited: Dec 2, 2009
DirtySideDown and simplyred1962 Thank this. -
Depends on what it's for - but two points is probably not anything too serious. They go back 3 years when looking at motor vehicle records as I recall.
-
So how long have you been with Prime and do you like working there?
-
I've been here almost 3 and a half years, and so far so good. It isn't as good as it was when I first started, but it has been picking back up in terms of freight volume in the last couple of months, so hopefully things will get back to the way they were in 07 and 08 again. My settlements are hit and miss right now, but every once and a while I get a huge settlement (usually happens when you get a trip that took 3 days and delivers just after the cut day, so you end up with 75-8500 miles on a week) and that brings my average up to where I like to see it.
I should also probably note that I've been running team since Memorial Day with 2 different co-drivers. Feb and Mar were very very rough pay wise for me, but solo in Apr and May were no problem.DirtySideDown and JimTheHut Thank this. -

from sazook.
That HAS to be a typo...not even TEAMS get THAT many miles in a week...at ANY company.
IF this is true, please post a copy of a pay statement (not showing your name, of course...identity theft is a MAJOR problem these days....especially if you make THAT kind of money.)
With Prime trucks running at MAX speed of 64 MPH., even TEAMS, running 24/7, with no stops for fuel, showers, food, can get that amount of miles in one week.
