The rain caps for the 6-8" miter top stacks are over $100 EACH! :(

I cut the turn outs off of my stacks, mostly cause of a rust spot on them, and drilled a couple of small holes in the bottom of the Y pipe. To solve the water problem I went high tech...a couple of coffee cans. Its simple, cheap, and fly pretty far if you forget to remove them before starting the motor.

Saw a guy with a flattop W900 with 8 inch miters. His driver's side elbow blew apart and the passenger's side had a hole rusted through that was so big you could stuff your fist through it. Is there a weatherproof coating that is heat resistant that you can coat the insides with to prevent this from happening?

Jet Hot coating will stand up to the temps. They use this coating on exhaust headers and manifolds. The coating has to be baked on if I remember right so I don't know if the chrome plating on the outside of the pipe would be okay.

Is that why my wrench went through my passenger side elbow when I tried to tighten the clamp around it?

And I don't even have mitre cuts; my stacks have turnouts!

you can get a "chrome" powder coat for the outside and a heat resistant coating on the inside, the chrome powder coat cant be polished to a complete shine but its not to dull of a look.
