Good thing it's coming out of the companies pocket and not mine. We already have a few pre 2000 trucks now.

Doesn’t seem to be a priority at company I’m at.
Last February they installed the Trimble PeopleNet in my truck. Last week they finally turned it on. Said to play with it, but keep using paper for now.Ol'Shusquatch Thanks this. -
Lots of Ludites in this thread. The devices are here to stay. If you are an o/o how many carriers would allow a 20 year old truck? How many would allow a truck that cannot run an eld? Just wondering.

Company I’m leased to runs Qualcomm. I’ve been on elogs for 4 years. Honestly never ever ever thought I’d say this, but they’re not the worst thing ever. I’m seeing the updates Qualcomm is making on the cdn side. Nothing substantial. On duty yard move, once you exceed 20mph it kicks you to drive time.
5 years ago I was ranting and raving how I’ll never run them. I’ll buy an old truck. Blah blah blah. You know the old story. Fast forward 5 years, I bought a new emissions truck. I’m making more money than ever. 30 year old trucks don’t pull 9-10 mpg. It’s pretty simple math IF you’re a business man. You either adapt and get with the times, or you go by the wayside. I’d rather stick around.BigDaddyCool99, not4hire, upnorthwpg and 5 others Thank this. -

It’s not always that high, I run a lot of heavy to Thunder Bay. 6.2 - 6.5us up 17. But once I’m on the big roads in the us, I gain substantially. And those numbers are on winter fuel. Winter tires on steel rims. It all adds up.
