Getting into car hauling

I want to get into car hauling but I think I may have shot myself in the foot. I had been at melton for about a year and nine-ish months, switched companies, and found out the grass wasn't greener. Now I want to be back to being home more/making decent money. So on to car hauling I guess. Problem is I've only been at my current company for four weeks or something, and I think that makes these car hauling companies not want to take me. United Road declined me, USAL refuses to call me back, and I have an application with Hansen & Adkins in but I'm not optimistic (I'm generally pessimistic though).

Are there other companies I should be looking into(I'm in DFW btw)?

How bad of an idea would it be to just buy a truck and run my own authority? The only car hauling specific thing I'm worried about is loading the truck (which I know is most of the job), but everything else seems manageable.

Idk what do y'all think?

 

Idk both usal and united road say they hire after six months to a year otr, and I'm only three weeks short of two years. Seems like to me if that was the issue they could train me and by the time I'm ready to go I'd be at two years.

I don't disagree, but I don't know what other options I have. If hansen doesn't take me I'd probably have to work a job for a minimum of six months to get a long enough job history to be considered again. It's looking like it'd be at least a year and a half before I'd be able to get into my own truck "the right way" best case scenario.
