If no cars are on the roads why stop at the red lights?
Same theory. Why follow the law if you lose money?

cars are on the road I am usually on... there is very little if any traffic on the side roads where the lights are triggering. I DO run them when I can, but if 4wheelers are in front of you, they always stop and wait for the retarded lights.

See if you can obtain one of those right of way units from an emergency vehicle and you'll never have to stop

never said your a rookie, but any advice given on here won’t be a defense In court or for your employer.

so the question itself is a rookie question.

one of the most important rules in trucking is follow the signs.

If the sign reads no vehicle over 36k GVWR or licensed over 36k 18 ton etc, your empty weight isn’t going to matter. You are still not supposed to be on that route.

if the sign says 36K weight limit then your good.

I think the road weight restrictions are for actual weights , not registered weights , that’s a big difference .

I doubt you’d ever have an issue if it’s a normal road, with normal truck traffic.

there is a PSC car that hangs around that area , but he’s mostly on 85 on the big long ramp , I forget which ramp it is , there’s one that’s about two miles long?

and they won’t know what your weight is , unless they bring out some portable scales. Or ask to see the BOL that has the weight listed on it and the cargo weight is over the posted weight.
Or if you had a BOL that showed a local delivery along that road .

And the ultraviolet flashing right of way light is a good idea .
    I’ve forgotten about those .

you might have to try a couple of different ones , unless the one you get has multiple patterns or adjustable patterns .

some sensors look for the pattern , not just the light .
If it’s late at night and the lights are red with no cross traffic, I’d be experimenting with that.

You could find out about the fine , if it’s like most fines in GA is 1.5 cents per lb?
but again, if you have a BOL that says your entire load is 10k lbs , unless they have a scale or make you drive to a scale, it’s gonna be impossible to know for sure.

the PSC cop that works that area used to make traffic stops with an unmarked car, which is frowned upon in Georgia,

pretty sure it’s supposed to be marked in Six inch letters if your main job is making traffic stops.
