Is it true that dedicated run drivers are always home almost every day? and what are the pros and cons.

    Just depends on the run.
Last job I had we had a few overnight and week long dedicated bruns. From MI to St. Louis was 9ne as was a dedicated run from MI to Laredo.
All dedicated means is you are assigned a run and for the most part that doesn't change. It could be home daily, overnight once, or a scheduled run from NY to LA.
As for how it is, well that depends on the company.

I depart 7:30 pm, return 4:30am. 24 years. Line haul in NW Ontario. No touch, just shucking and jiving to tunes each night. Only expense is a coffee at Timmy’s on the other end
It’s not as lucrative as long haul due to the fact I only run 440 miles each night. I could have a 600 mile line haul run but I every time I consider it,,,,I prefer play to work:D

Could be, might not be. Food service is mostly night shift. The dedicated runs at my current company are 12 hour shifts. Day and night. At my last company we also had just as many day shift dedicated runs as night shift.
Again, it depends on the company.

Yes there are O/O on line haul. If experienced you should work a few years and determine if you want to own a 14k lb headache. Costs more than a needy mistress and constantly whining for attention.
O/O had took my truck Wednesday after his truck died 70 miles from town. Not worth the aggravation in my opinion but some are gluttons for punishment
What’s your location maybe we can point you to hell on earth:D
