You can't hear me, but Im laughing with you.
I already dropped $100 this week because I tagged a trailer wheel on a ginormous curb at another jobsite monday morning. Only 1 shop in the area set up for heavy truck stuff. 15min to bang the wheel back out and he charged me a full hour of labor.Eldiablo, cke, PoleCrusher and 1 other person Thank this. -
Im guessing like my truck you should be able to get engine codes somehow. Mine is by using the cruise control switch and it'll make the check engine light flash a 2 number sequence.
Iirc, if you get random code faults on a working system, it can be a telltale sign of a bad ecm.Eldiablo, cke, PoleCrusher and 1 other person Thank this. -
Got to live when they can take advantage of the situation right?
I'll get this whooped eventually. Just on the learning curve of how this engine works. It's down to 2 things at this point. A really really takes air pocket or no fire from the ecm.singlescrewshaker, Eldiablo, cke and 1 other person Thank this. -
I did find where @pushbroom had posted a 6nz ecm pinout and it had trouble codes on it. I'll look into how to read them and see what I come up with. It had the light on before that would go out for a second then come right back on but of course with it not starting the light isn't on on the dash right now.
I had also read that someone had an ecm that was failing and his symptom was the fan on temp wouldn't set. The ecm would just forget what temp it was supposed to be turning the fan on..... so who knows it could have failed at the most coincidental time.singlescrewshaker, Eldiablo, cke and 1 other person Thank this. -
Gently blow air with blow gun in vent tube while someone cranks it over. Or take cap off. Us hand to seal it and blow air in while cranking. Very little amount. Remember if you use the vents, they are a one way check valve. Tank will hold psi. Another way to remove soft dents. But don't over do it. You can F things up if taken too far.singlescrewshaker, Eldiablo, exhausted379 and 4 others Thank this. -
Oh only if you have a CEL, SEL. If they do not come on and off with key on. You have a ecm power/ground/ failure issue.

I did think of that earlier but I've been by myself all day. I'll try that out as well if I can get a helping hand to stop by.singlescrewshaker, Eldiablo, cke and 2 others Thank this.
