Baloney. An old timer told me once, "a dirty truck is a dirty shame". I had pride in my ride, and it doesn't have to be a Pete. Even a cop told me once, a clean truck is generally a better cared for truck. I went out of my way sometimes to clean my trucks. My boss at Crystal Farms loved me, because I always had a clean truck, I'd come in 15 minutes early and blow the truck off. Food products shouldn't be delivered in a dirty truck. The fact someone has a dirty truck, Pete or otherwise, tells me, "look out, I'm a schmoe that doesn't care".
What's up with dirty Peterbilts ?

My old man was a logger and it was rare that he didn't leave the house every Monday morning with a spotless truck. Pride in the ride.

That’s what I liked about hauling raw milk.
Every other day you were in a 80 degree bay getting unloaded while it was 20 below outside.
You were allowed to use as much hot wash out water as you wanted while in there.
My work payed me $40 to wash my truck and tanker .
I could whip the 2 out in 40 minutes And it gave me a good workout so when I pulled out after washing myself down I was ready to hit the sack after making dinner.
I always felt great having a clean truck in the middle of winter when every other truck was caked in a month of salt.
And a $120 fed me for the week.88228822, jason6541, austinmike and 9 others Thank this. -

For me i do country wide end dump. It would not be the first time i wash it and get sent into a mud pit that makes it look worse then it did BEFORE i washed it same day. Typically though now that i am an O/O i try to wash it once a month or if it really needs it. I dislike it when it gets much past dusty. Other times like right now with all the rain i just let it go until it dries out and wont be a mud covered pigsty in a few hours.
I have also worked places that wont let you wash their fleet of 379s and w900s. To be frank if its not my rig i aint paying to make it pretty if the boss wont.homeskillet, slow.rider, bzinger and 1 other person Thank this. -
Big Pete,big cat,clean and it’s paid for!!!!
Come’ on back!!!!! -
There is a serious lack of good truck washing outfits here in the northwest and I been running hard enough that I haven’t had time to wash the truck myself. I went to one the other day and the truck seriously looked better when it was dirty as then it was at least uniform. Now its clean with lots of missed spots. Biggest issue is the color of it. Its peterbilts legendary teal so the truck looks way different when its wet then it does when its dry and it hides the dirty spots very well when wet. I grew up washing my neighbors log truck on the weekend and just like @AModelCat ’s ole man truck his was spotless even during mud season/spring breakup and I have yet to find a place to wash the truck to my standard’s.

I have to admit a lot of times I don’t have time to sit in the line cause I have some where to be, or I have time but don’t have access to a truck wash. I have many times washed it at one of those self truck washes where you swipe the card and it keeps the time. Takes about 50 bucks and some sweat to suite me. I do try my hardest to wash out before heading home then get the truck washed on the way even if it puts me way behind on getting to the house.
I have noticed those that hate on a big Pete with a CAT the worst want one the most. Not they ever admit it. Almost act like some of us haven’t worked on a FLD or something. Get over itOxbow, rollin coal, special-k and 28 others Thank this.
